Pettus Book
Despite the holidays, I managed to finish the biographies in the two additional chapters of Pettuses that I started this fall, except that I will need to look up some deeds in Mecklenburg County and Lunenburg County, Virginia, to clarify some points of confusion. I suppose that I will do that when the weather improves and the days are a bit longer. In the meantime, I have purchased Family Historian, which provides a charting capability that is easy to use. I am using this capability to generate descendant charts that will be included in the book. The charts look great. Once the data has been entered, I can easily show or hide branches as desired for a particular purpose. So far, I have entered about half of the Pettuses and their spouses that are mentioned in my book. I expect to complete this task in another week or two. FH also generates an alphabetical list of everyone on the family tree, which is a good start towards compiling an index.
