I am looking for info on the family of Benjamin F. Gilliam
who was in Cheatham Co., TN when the 1860 Census was taken.
He married Eliza Jane Spruel in Williamson Co., TN on
4-2-1846. His parents were William A. Gilliam and Martha D. Smithson.

He is living next door to my relative who is Thomas Stovall.
Thomas Stovall's parents Caleb T. and Lydia Jane Jefferson Stovall lived in Davidson Co., TN until after the 1850 Census. They lived with the family of George B. Hill and Martha Stovall Hill.

I believe that George B. Hill was a relative of the famous Preacher Green Hill, thru one of his brothers, either Richard or John Hill. Both of these men married Gilliam's.

There is a probate file in Williamson Co., TN on an Anthony Gilliam who died around 1852. I have looked at the probate record. He lives next door to a John H. Hill before his death. Some of the people buying at the estate sale were John H. Hill, some of the DeMoss family, Whitfield's etc.

Is William A. Gilliam, William Anthony Gilliam?

A John Hill married Rebecca Wade 4-22-1809 in Williamson Co., TN. The bondsman was Obadiah Wade.

Obadiah Wade's family moved to Trigg Co., Ky and members of this family are buried in the Jefferson Cemetery there.

Do you know if the Gilliam Family is connected to the family of John Hill and Rebecca Wade? At this time I do not know whether this was the John Hill living next to Anthony Gilliam or not.
