Pettus Book Status and Update on Rackheath Hall, Norfolk, England

Yesterday, I finished compiling the Microsoft Works index database for chapter 11. Somehow, I neglected to save my last work session yesterday, so I am forced to redo several hours of work today. Chapter 11 has 126 pages and over 1700 index entries after consolidating all entries for the same name or place. I have been experimenting to determine the best way to convert the database over to a Word document with two or three columns. The initial result yielded a 24-page Word doeument that closely resembles a standard index except for some formatting details. After I settle on a satisfactory procedure, I will have to combine the index databases for all the earlier chapters with the one for chapter 11 to make a complete index database to volume 1 of my book. Then I can convert the result to a Word document. This task should keep me busy for awhile, since a lot of manual editing will be necessary to achieve the desired formatting in Word.
I learned recently that Rackheath Hall in Norfolk, England, which was rebuilt by the Stracey family in the nineteenth century, has some of the wood paneling and a stained-glass window from the older mansion occupied by the Pettus family from about 1590. The window has the Pettus coat-of-arms.
