Lloyd-Petzold - Ceremony Saturday Afternoon At Macalester Church - In a candlelight ceremony at Macalester Presbyterian church, St. Paul, at 4 o’clock Saturday afternoon, February 12, Miss Carol Lloyd, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. B.W. Lloyd of Fulda, became the bride of Lieut. Edward Petzold, of the U.S. army corps, son of Mr. and Mrs. H.A. Petzold of St. Paul. The ceremony was performed by the Rev. L.A. Peterson of Albert Lea, former pastor of the Fulda Presbyterian church.

The church was decorated with palms, ferns and baskets of white socks and snapdragons, and white taper candles in candelabra.

The nuptial music was played by Miss Charlotte Robinson, a friend of the bride at Macalester college. The bride was attended by her friend, Miss Ethel Peterson, who wore a two piece American Beauty wool dress with navy blue accessories. Her corsage was of roses and forget-me-nots. The bridegroom was attended by his brother, Herman Petzold, who is a flight instructor in the army air corps at Fargo.

The bride wore a suit of beige wool with an aqua blue blouse and hat, and her accessories were brown. Her arm bouquet was of white and sweet peas.

The groom was in the uniform of the army air corps.

After the ceremony a wedding dinner was served in the dining room of the Commodore Hotel for the bridal party and immediate members of the two families. The table was decorated with white taper candles, bouquets of snapdragons and sweet peas, and the traditional tiered, decorated wedding cake centered the bride’s table. White nutcups and bridal place cards completed the table decorations.

The bride has grown up in the Fulda community. She is a graduate of the local high school and of Macalester college where she majored in Music and English and was a member of the January class. The groom also attended Macalester college before enlisting in the air corps. He received his wings and his commission as a Second Lieutenant at graduation exercises at La Junta, Colorado, on February 8. He is on a ten day leave and he and his bride will leave Saturday for Sedalia, Missouri, where he is to report at Knobster Field. The bride has a pleasing personality and has many friends here who wish them happiness in their life together. Lt. and Mrs. Petzold arrived in Fulda Tuesday for a short visit at the home of her parents.

Mr. and Mrs. F.W. Lloyd and sons, Bruce and Robert, went to St. Paul Thursday to complete arrangements for the wedding and remained until Sunday afternoon.”
