As my surname is Peura I've got several questions from American Peuras searching for their Finnish roots. I don't seem to be related to any of you, but I have found a little tidbit of information on the current whereabouts of the Peura lines in Finland that some of you might be interested in.
According to the Finnish registers, there are two main sites where Peuras have been born after 1944. One is around Tervola in Norhtern Finland (this is also where my line is from). The other is around Saarijärvi and Laukaa (two towns fairly close to each other in the Central Southern Finland).
