I think what you are referring to as proper names are in fact place names. Chiavenno, Italie, Como Meer, and Vacallo ... Chiavenna is in northern Italy in the Lombardie district, Italie is clearly Italy, Como Meer or Comomeer is referring to Lake Como which is just south of Chiavenna and Vacallo is just across the Swiss border in the same area.
