Did Reuben C. Pew have a son named Joel?

My GGG grandfather, Joel PEW, was said to have come to Hickman Co., TN, from KY about 1810-1812. We have never been able to discover who his parents were.

Reuben C. PEW was in an area of KY that sent many settlers to Hickman Co. in that era, but so far as we know, Reuben did not have a son named Joel. Reuben seems to be the most likely candidate to be Joel's father except for this pesky fact. :-)

Do you know if any of Reuben's son's (probably b. around 1785-1795) went to Tennessee? After all, he could have changed his name to Joel when he moved to a new town.

Grasping at straws...
