It's always gratifying to know when I've helped someone.
Yes, my Pews were in the Niagara area in the 1850's. My gr grandparents, Thomas William Pew b 1826 and Margaret Ann Rose b 1830 were married in 1850 across the border in Lewiston, NY. I know for sure that Thomas' father was George Pew, born in England. Thomas had a sister, Mary who married someone named Coy. He also had a brother, Alfred who, according to his Civil War pension file, was born 1839 in NYC. Thomas & Margaret were listed in the 1855 Thorold census. By 1860 they were in Simcoe County where they remained until their death.
