To follow up on my previous post, I forgot to include that while I do not have one in my posession, I believe that I have seen the coat of arms that my relatives had registered. It is a shield divided into four quadrants with rearing lions in two diagnonal quadrants and slashes in the other quadrants - this is surprisingly similar to the coat of arms of Raymond Du Puy, an original leader of the Order of St. John, Knights Hospitaller whose shield was very distinct from that of the other Crusaders in that it was a shield with four quadrants with rearing lions in two diagonal quadrants and crosses in the others. May all just be coincidence.
