Your posting filled in several gaps for me and I appreciate the information. Thank you. I have a followup question about Daniel's father, Josephus Pew. I located him in the US Census for 1850 (Centre Twp., Guernsey Co., Ohio) with a wife named "Clarinda", age 39. The census taker spelled the name "Pugh". In the 1870 Census, I found him on the same page as Daniel and Caroline, this time with a wife named "Elizabeth", age 45. Did Daniel's father have 3 wives? And who is Frances Lantz, Daniel's mother?
Another note: I found Daniel and Louisa in the 1900 US Census (Swan Lake Twp., Pocahontas Co., Iowa) with a fourth "daughter", named Nellie, age 16. That was a mystery until I located the widower Daniel "Pugh" with his three daughters, and a step-daughter, Nellie Kinniman, age 25, and grandson, Laurence Kinniman, age 2, in the 1910 US Census in North Dakota, Dickey Co., Ellendale Twp.
