Wow, thanks for the information. If there were 16 children I have a lot more work to do! I sorry I didn't pass on the information I had about Samuel. It's not much and I don't know from where I got the info. I have that Samuel was born 4 March 1839. Again, Idon't know from where I got that date. Your date is probably more acurate. I have that he died 6 Apr 1863. That information came from a Tombstone transcription sent to me by the Iowa Genealogical Society. They have been most helpful. I wrote with one question. They did a lot of work including taking pictures of tombstones. They only ask for a donation. I would suggest you contact them. They might be able to track down more information on Samuel. I have most of my documents available in digital format. My scanner is down right now but I can send what I have. Please keep me in mind if you find any more information on Josephus et al.
