I found a Samuel Pew in the Civil War Pension records today that I think is yours so I thought I would pass the info along.

Filing Date 1922 Dex 21 Widow 1198363 Certificate 929847. He served in Pensylvania. The widow's name was Lydia Pew. There was quite a lot in the pension file

Samuel married Lydia Pew his cousin on 16 Apr 1866. Lydia Died 30 Nove 1932. Samuel died 13 Dec 1922 in Mercer Co, PA and was buried 16 Dex 1835 there. His parents were John Pew and Nancy Glenn - both were born in Mercer Co. PA.

Samuel and Lydia had three children James G b. 16 Sep 1867, Lulu J. b. 19 Dex 1870 - she married J. G.??? Dickinson (the initials were hard to read). and William b. Oct 1872.
