WILLIAM PEW b. 1732 Pope Creek, Westmoreland Co. VA

Looking for any information regarding my gr-gr-gr-gr-gr-grandfather William Pew, born 1732 in Pope Creek, Westmoreland County, Virginia. According to the limited information I've discovered so far, William Pew migrated to Gloucester, Massachusetts around 1755 where he became a fisherman. Supposedly, he also fought alongside George Washington in the French and Indian Wars prior to this. His wife was Abigail (Grover) Pew, born May 14, 1732 in Gloucester, Massachusetts. William died in Gloucester, MA on Jan. 26, 1840 at the age of 107 years. Another piece of info that may help: William's grandson, John Pew of Gloucester, MA started John Pew & Sons which eventually merged into Gorton-Pew Fisheries of Gloucester, MA.

I'm looking to find out more information about who William's parents were and where they resided, anything. I've hit a bit of a dead end. There doesn't seem to be any information at all about Pews in Westmoreland County, Virginia that I've been able to come across. Any information or insight, help of any kind would be very much appreciated!!
