possibly william I believe son of John pew is not named in will is because he already received money to purchase land in lebanon townshipand roxbury township or /and he married a presbyterian abigail case and his father and family were adherents of the middletown baptist church.another connection is the fact that james pew grandson of john and son of james was a loyalist and wasmurdered while being held in jail during revolution also his cousin samuel pew son of william was a loyalist who went to canada of whom is my ancestor and i have to tell you thomas was also wanted for questioning but left for washinton pa ..the pews then were quite scattered by 2nd and 3rd generationsIhave been searching the pew family for almost 30 years and I do also believe that john pew might have come from vastill working on that i did find a jonn pew who had finished an indenture in 1688 which could make him a candidate for purchasing land on staten island 1688john pew was a cordwainer and would have had to havebeen trained in that field
