Hi Robert
Unfortunately, I haven't traced back that far either. Are you related to the Pfau's from Alsace-Lorraine Germany/France? Settled in Barbour/Tucker/Randolph Co's VA (now WV). Specifically looking for a John B Pfau, father of Henry Martin Pfau. Beginning to think maybe spelled different, see you're running into the kinda problem.
