This may or may not help. The orgin of the Pfau surname is German/Russian around the Bersean and Black Sea Region of Germany. This Surname has been changed alot usually when German immagrants came to the USA and means Peacock. But is seen in other ethnic races also. Some of the most common spellings is Pfay, Pfaff, Pew, Phall, Pfauy, Pfaus, and so on. I have traced as far back as 1824 Russia. Feel free to contact me I do have alot of records for serveral spellings of the Pfau surname since I do know that my ancestors originally did not spell it this way and was changed upon arrival to the US. Some also changed it to differentiate from others with the same surname that were of no relation to eachother. The Oddessa Digital Library alos may be of help on the surname the addy is:
