In Daniels obit, specifies he is a mechanic. There is a SS India Ship out of Glasgow, Scotland via Movile, Ireland to New York 20 March 1871, list: 137* ??? Pheil 41 M Mechanic, Scotland Steerage, 138 Jane Pheil F 29 None Scotland Steerage, 139 Helen Pheil 18 F None Scotland Steerage. I was told that our line came from Ireland, this would fit. Age may have been wrong because of language barrier. David Wilbur b1848 would have been 23, this one 30.
