Hey everyone. I've been trying to bust through for years now. My gg-grandfather was Charles M Pfisterer who had a painting and wall paper hanging business that he moved from Philadelphia to Arkansas City, KS in 1885. I believe his father was George and his mother was Frederika both from Germany. I have had a hard time documenting this. Family legend has that Charles' father came to america fleeing from germany around the time of the civil war. he was an inn keeper in Philadelphia and was caught spying for the confederacy. I have a portrait of him but little else. I have Charles' mason pins, ring, etc as well as his son Harry's. Does this sound familiar to anyone?
