I responded to you about a year and a half ago, but not sure with this much detail.
Not sure we have a link, but I know of three Phair sisters (and maybe a fourth) that emigrated from the townland of Drumliff, Co. Cavan, to Otago, two marrying and settling there and another marrying and then emigrating to California.
Mary Ann Phair, b.1842. Married John Carter, also from Ireland, in 1870 and then they moved to Marin Co., California. No children.
Elizabeth Phair, b. 1844. Married John Hastings in 1871. Children: William, Robert, Elizabeth, Alfred and John Robert. She died 15 July 1931, he 29 February 1892, both at Inch Clutha, Otago. She emigrated from Ireland about 1862. Other descendents unknown.
Lucinda Phair, b. abt 1859. Married William Wilson, also of Co. Cavan, abt. 1883. They emigrated from Ireland about 1885. She died 21 September 1938 and he 1 April 1925, both in Stirling, Otago. Children: William, George, Elizabeth Jane, Lily and Robert. No known dependents.
They had a brother Robert William Phair, b. 1862, who ended up in California, arriving about 1876, but don't know his travels to get there. He married and had children in California, but don't know if there was an earlier wife.
The parents of these were John Phair and Susan Scarlett.
Another possible sister was Fannie Phair, b. abt. 1850, emigrating to Port Chalmers in 1866-1868, married a John Ross in February 1875, all of which could be true or coincidence.
Hope you or someone has a connection.
