my husband's ancestor is William P. Phair, paper manufacturer, b. abt 1817 in County Cork, Ireland. I have his first wife as Mary, with daughters Mary Ann b abt 1842 and Elizabeth b abt 1850. William came to Massachusetts, became a citizen, and settled in Lawrence, MA. He married two more times, had more children with his second wife, and he continued to be a paper engineer. I have his second marriage info which lists his parents as William and Elizabeth. I received info from another person that suggests that the mother Elizabeth's last name may have been Pickering. Does any of this sound familiar??
