Thank you Carol for the information you posted regarding Solomon Geer and Nancy Phenix. Nancy is the daughter of John T. Phenix and Lydia Daniels. We have never been able to discover the name of John's mother, she is never mentioned in any research I have done.
We have been to Hurley, N.Y. where the family is supposed to have originated, delightful town with a thriving genealogical society. We were told that we were the first people they had met who were researching the Phenix family, but they were very helpful.
John and Lydia seemed to have done a lot of travelling before settling in Stark, Ill. with their children born in many states. Makes for interesting family history.
Anything else you happen upon will be most gratefully received. - Betty.
