Mary Phifer 1832-1907 married D. A. Hargett
Hi, I am looking for any information anyone may have onancestors David A. Hargett (?31 SEP 1830 - 4 APR 1905) and wife Mary R. Phifer (15 APR 1832 - 15 SEP 1907) and their daughter, Lennie Rebecca Hargett (16 JUN 1863 - 3 MAR 1938).
I am a descendant of D. A. (Bud) Hargett, whose mother was Lennie Rebecca Hargett, a midwife (never married). Lennie Rebecca Hargett, internment Hickory Grove Methodist, Charlotte, was the youngest of the 3 children of David A. (some say Amzi or the Mecklenburg 1850 Census lists an Ainze, age 21, in Casper Hargett's household) Hargett and Mary R. Phifer, both buried at the old Morningstar Lutheran, Matthews-Mint Hill,Mecklenburg,NC. The other two children were Annie Hargett, also a midwife who never married but had 6 children, and Coleman Hargett, who I also know nothing about. David was one of around 9 children of Casper Hargett (born ca. 1789) and his first wife Prudence Massey. Casper was one of around 10 children of John Henry Hargett Jr., or II and his first wife Unknown Finley, or his second wife Anna Charity Broome, we aren't sure.
Since posting this on Hargett Forum, I have found the 1870 Census for Morningstar Township lists "DANIEL" which could just as easily be read DAVID and MARY Hargett living next door to an 88 year old Mary Phifer, head of household.David and Mary Phifer Hargett's children are listed as:
Hannah 12F (Annie)
Amzi10M(Coleman?)
Louisa7F(my gggrdmthr "Lennie Rebecca")
Francis 5F(anyboby?, and note spelling but was female)
The rest of our ancestry is very well published. Thank you for any help.
