My name is Martha Jean Hardin Underwood and Jane was my father's grandmother. His mother was Martha Candace Womack. I have a picture of the entire family and would be happy to share that with you. Apparently we are cousins. How are you related to Jane?
William Womack was ne of 3 brothers who fought in the CIvil War. One died and the other two walked back to NC and William became a circuit riding Methodist Minister and served for 75 years. He and Jane had 8 children one of which is my grandmother. His home is as far as I know still standing on Womack Road. I have been there and have pictures of it.My dad used to visit there quite often as a child and young man.She is buried with William at the church he founded - I have pictures of the gravestones. I knew several of her children very well. Minnie and VIckie and Ancy used to visit us at my grandmother's home. My grandmother and her brother John both married Womack's who were brother and sister so we have all these double cousins.I would love to hear from you.
