Hi Yvonne
If you haven't seen the Philbrick-Philbrook Genealogy Page at you're in for a treat. A Joel which could very probably be the one you're looking for is listed as follows in the seventh generation:

Joel PHILBROOK Jr. (658) was born on 23 May 1801 in Vinalhaven, Knox Co., ME. He died on 5 Jun 1845.
He was married to Lydia [PHILBROOK]. Lydia [PHILBROOK] was born on 3 Sep 1806. She died on 2 May 1873.

It doesn't show any of his children but you will find lots of info on his ancestors.

The lineage would be Joel Jr/Joel/Job/Johnathan/William/Thomas/Thomas the Emigrant.

Hope this works for you.
