Early Philhower-Hartrum marriages

I'm very interested in Hartrum genealogy and therefore also in the connected Philhowers. We are struggling in our attempt to connect our various Hartrum lineages and to trace them back to Germany.

There appears to be disagreement as to the parents of Peter Philhower born about 1773. I have read that his parents were Jurg Philip WUHLHAUER and Anna Maria Margaretha MUELLER, but then also that they were Philip WUHLHAUER/PHILHOWER (b:1724) and Mary HARTRUM.

Can anyone shed any light on this contradiction and are you aware of any sources to justify these data?
