My PHILIBERT information
Posted by: Teresa Date: January 20, 2000 at 22:02:36

I have traced back to Nicholas Philibert, born in Chateau Nouveau, Lorraine, France, whose son is Pedro Philibert, born around 1760 in the same place. My Pedro's children were all born in New Orleans, Louisiana, and I am not aware if Pedro had any siblings. He may have landed in a different port in America and travelled to LA, but I have no other information to offer as far as that goes at this time. Much of my info on the Philibert family has come from Catholic church records from New Orleans. You may want to see if there are volumes of any Catholic church records for the area that your Philiberts lived in. The records tend to offer a great deal of information for each entry.
