There must be some relation as Frances Philibert, d. 1842,
m. Carmalite ____, d. 25 Aug. 1852.
They had a daughter Emily S., b. 1831, Mobile, AL, d. 24 July 1879, Mobile, AL (m. William Edward Colgin) and a younger son.
Frances seems to have been the lighthouse keeper at Choctaw Point and after his death, wife Carmalite took over the position.
Carmalite, her son (aged about 16), and her grandchildren (Emily's two daughters) were drowned in the hurricane of 1852 and Emily and husband William were found clinging to a log and saved.
You're the first person I've heard from who's researching Philiberts and I would love to hear from you.
