Dear Tobias,
I saw your message on the genforum board but since it is so old you may not still be there. However, I too am a Philippi although we now speel the name Phillippi here in southern Louisianna and Mississippi, USA. My great- grandfather, Heinrich Peter Philippi was from Hundsbach Rheinland-Faltz. It is a tiny village between the Nahe and Glan rivers. Peter was born in 1817 and his older brother, Karl in 1805 0r 1807. There father was Johannes P. Philippi and mother was Elizabeth von Reiffelbach from near Meisenheim. I am trying to locate the name of Karl and Peter's grandfather and a record of Peter's marriage to Elizabeth. So far I ahve been unsuccessful.
Do you have any other information on your family? Do you have any family that migrated to America, especially the New Orleans area? If so then maybe I can help find records on them.
