I have noticed a couple of postings suggesting that modern Phillips might have been Phillippi lines earlier. This switch is very reasonable but has it been documented to really happen? I ask because my mothers' line is Phillips and it vanishes in Carroll County Ohio in the 19th century. I see some Phillippi's from the 18th century in that area, and am wondering what the chances are they are the same families. Any help?

Thanks -- Bill Pulliam
