If your Adam Phillippi was in Erie County, New York during the 1850 census, I would very much like to exchange some important information with you. I have been doing research in the old Grafschaft (Countdom) of Saarwerden which belonged to the Counts from Nassau (Germany) in olden times but became officially part of France in 1793 and is presently known as the western part of Bas-Rhin one of the departments (similar to our states) of France, for quite a few years. Although I have focused my search on the REEB family in that area going back to the middle to late 1500s my search does include the descendants of the female Reebs as well as the male. In this case Johann Adam Philippi born 12 May 1774 in the village of Keskastel and baptized in the Lutheran faith on the 14th , son of Johann Adam Philippi and Maria Elisabetha Barth was married to Eva Margaretha Reeb 2 Oct 1801 in Keskastel. She was born 11 Dec 1779 in Keskastel to Johann Heinrich Reeb and Anna Margaretha Karcher. Their children were: l. Eva Margaretha born 1802, married 1827 to Johann Jacob Barth and had at least two daughters before they emigrated to America. 2. Eva Catharina Philippi, born 1804; Johann Adam Philippi born 1807; Catharina Philippi born 1809; Georg Heinrich Philippi born 1811; Catharina Elisabetha Philippi born 1814; twins Friedrich Philippi and Jost (Joseph)Philippi born 1816; Georg Philippi born 1820. I can give you further information if you are interested in exchange. On the Philippi side I will have to do a little more search in order to help with the earlier records however on the Reeb side I can provide the lineage back to at least 1599. Hope to hear from you soon. You can contact me at my e-mail address. Thank you. John V. Reeb
