Louis and quilt

The following is from the caption for May 2007 of The American Quilt Calendar (quilts from Williamsburg).

'Mosaic quilt top made by Louis Phillippi and his sisters;
Philadelphia, PA; ca. 1863; pieced silk over paper templates. Family tradition
states
that a teenaged boy helped his sisters piece this quilt top. A paper
tag
attached to the border reads: "Silk Quilt top cut and pieced by Louis
Phillippi and four sisters in Philadelphia in 1863. This was the cause
of
his running away from home and joining the Union army at the age of
14."
