Absalom Phillips, son of Ichabod Phillips and Sophia Lord, was born about 1826 in Columbia Co., GA.According to Estate Records of Columbia Co., he died between 9 June 1854 (when the doctor visited him) and 8 November 1854 (when his estate was entered into probate) in Columbia Co., GA.He married Isabel Rowland 6 January 1844 in Columbia Co.She was born about 1826 in Georgia.Their children were:

(5) Elizabeth J. Phillips b. abt 1855 Columbia Co., GA.
The 1860 Jefferson Co., GA census shows Isabel (Rowland Phillips) as the wife of William Lafaver, their having married within the year.The couple was shown living in Jefferson Co. with the 3 surviving orphans of Absalom Phillips, James T., Ichabod, and Elizabeth J. On some Phillips websites, there has been found posted erroneous information regarding Absalom Phillips' death date.....that of 26 July 1818.According to the "Augusta Herald," Augusta, GA, 7 August 1818, "Absalom Phillips, age 21, died in Burke Co., GA on 26 July 1818.He was a Methodist Episcopal circuit preacher on the Louisville Curcuit."
This could not have been the son of Ichabod Phillips and Sophia Lord.
