Dot- I noticed this morning that Ancestry.com/census was offerin free census for a week so I went to Robert Phillips born MS in 1807 to see if he was in census aftrer 1850 but no luck. I then went to 1860 census in Catahoula to see who Allen was living with. Here is the listing for that household:
Household 511 Family 495 Arm Mill Church P.O., Pine Woods Dist. , Catahoula parish, LA
B. Wright age 50 born GA
Nancy age 47 LA
Frances age 20 LA
Hananda? age 17 LA
Mary age 5 LA
Allen Philips 10 LA
Thomas Bap ?sp ? La
I thought maybe he lived with an older sister who married or maybe his mother remarried after Robert died but none of that seems to fit this family.
