Looking for marriage record for Lucinda Philpot & Alexander R. Ramsey or proof to support she is the daughter. My wife's line is Alexander R. Ramsey & Luncinda Philpot (Philpott) who were listed in 1830 Carroll Co, GA census. He is also listed in "They Were Here Vol 6, page 1094" along with James & Richard Philpot. Have just found out Lucinda's last name (Philpot) from a death certificate of one of Alexander's daughter Elizabeth J. Ramsey Lemons. Also a son Augustus Ramsy's obituary states "he was born 12 Dec 1835 in Carrol Co, GA; lived in Fayette Co, AL; moved with parents to Pontotoc Co, MS in 1850 when he was 15 years old; & moved to Calhoun Co, MS in 1857".
Found message # 673 posted by jerry1.clark regarding Richard, Rueben & James Philpot that indicates Alexander could be a son-in-law. I feel sure Lucinda is the d/o Richard referred to in the message although none of the researchers have her listed as a daughter. They do not have the James Johnson named as son-in-law either. Alexander is listed in 1830 Carroll Co, Ga on page 221 living between James Johnson, Jr & William Philpot son of Richard. Next door to William is Richard then next to him is another son James. Another son Reuben (Reubin) is listed on page 228.
In 1840 Alexander is in Fayette Co, AL along with Jesse R Philpot another son of Richard.
In 1850 Alexander is in Pontotoc Co, MS along with Philpots named Jesse R 39 m TN, Morton? 36 m TN & Delia 50 f TN.
In 1860 Alexander is in Calhoun Co, MS along with Jesse R 50 m TN, Martin 48 m TN, Thomas 30 m GA, Seabron 25 m GA, & Michael 29 m GA. Alson Sebron Taylor & Anna (d/o Richard Philpot) living next door to Alexander R. & his sons Augustus & Martin. James Johnson 35 m TN with wife Victoria 31 f VA also listed, but not sure if correct one since so many James Johnsons.
Would appreciate any commenes or data regarding this line. Let me know what you think.
Glen
