Philpots on 1850 census of Pontotoc, MS

The Jesse R. Philpot family is listed on the 1850 Pontotoc, MS census near a bunch of Johnsons and Griffins. See http:/ftp.rootsweb.com/pub/usgenweb/ms/pontotoc/census/1850/pg0077b.txt

If anyone knows about this Philpot family, especially a Jess Philpot that may have known or been related to a James Calvin Johnson, please contact me. There was an H.V. Philpot who was a Meth. preacher at Chappell Hill Meth. Church in Austin's Colonoy froj 1862-1864 also
I was interested to see an earlier message about a Reuben Philpot who had a son-in-law named James Johnson, anyone know about them. I am guessing that the Johnsons and Philpots were related and moved from TN, to Carroll Co., GA to Fayette Co., Al to Pontotoc, MS together. Anyone know more about this?
