I find Julia Philpot in the 1880 census for Manchester, Clay, Ky. census, along with her two children: Sarah and Susan. In this census she is widowed at age 21 and her children are six and three respectively.
Philpot is assumed to be her married name by virtue of this census. Her daughters marriage certificate (Sarah J Philpot) to Frederick E. Roth would also imply that Philpot was Julia's married name. However Julia's death certificate indicates that her maiden name is Philpot.
It is possible that she married a cousin of the same name, but I'm wondering if anyone has a record of a Julia A. /?/ that would have been married to a Philpot, around 1873?
