Hi Belinda,

Your reply makes a lot of sense. Julia's first child would have been born when she was fifteen years old, so it is possible that Sarah was illegitimate. It's also conceivable that W.W. Roach fled to Tennessee where his parents were from. The only thing that bothers me is that Julia Philpot is not in the 1860, or 1870 census. I do find a Julia listed with Grandville Philpot in one of these census documents, however the birth years donít match.

Something else: The 1910 census indicates that she and W.W. Roach were both on their 2nd marriage. Could it mean that it was their second marriage to each other? Oh the possibilities...
