Dear Ken, I am a descendant of Janet's sister Henrietta Phimister. Alexander Phimister moved to Cawdor where he was a dyer. He took on Duncan Macgillivray as apprentice and he later married his daughter Henrietta. Henrietta's brother Alexander was also a dyer at Cawdor, at the Waulkmill where apparently the clothes and blankets of Fort George were washed. These are the children I have found for Alexander Phimister and Isobel Forsyth: Alexander Phimister’s children Alexander, 1771 (at one time dyer in Cawdor) Elspet 1773 (she married Davidson, dyer at Faillie) Margaret 1774 Marjory 1776 Janet 1778 Henrietta 1780 (she married Duncan Macgillivray, dyer) Charlotte 1782 You mentioned that your Janet was not daughter of Isobel Forsyth - can you explain? Thank you, Jane
