My father was born in Dundee in 1929, the 2nd youngest of 6 who were all born in Dundee. He had an older brother, Walter, who he never knew as he was orphaned at a young age.

His Father, Walter Aitchison Paxton Fimister was born in 1902. He was 1 of 5, however only one other brother lived and he was killed in Flanders during WW1 aged 27, he did marry (in Glasgow although I haven't researched this in detail). The 3 generations before Walter were all born in Brechin.

My G G G grandfather, William Fimister was born in Brechin in 1802, his Father was George and he married a Mary Don, but I can't as yet find any record of the marriage. There was a George born in Alves in 1775 but as yet have not confirmed that this is Williams father.

I've only been researching for 2 weeks and can't believe that I've found out so much already.
