Jean Pichet was the son of Louis Pichet Louis was born 13 Feb.1685 a farmer and a Royal Notary. Louis was the son of Jean Pichet born in Poitiers, Poitou France about 1631 he was the son of Cardinal Villeneune and Rene-E-Caron. He came to New France in 1659. He married Madeleine LeBlanc the daughter of Jean LaBlanc and Euphrodie-Madeleine Nicolet. He was also a farmer. He purchased a tract of land belonging to the brothers Jean and Nicolas Juchereau in the Parish of St. Pierre on l"ile d'Orleans. This land was part of La Chevalerie estate and was two acres wide facing the St Lawrence River and to its depth, it extended to the line that crossed the island from one end to the other.
There is a site for Jean Pichet that will give you more info. My grandfather is a direct decendant of this Jean Pichet. However he changed his name when he moved to Mass. in 1900
