James Columbus Pickens, TN. Second family.
Posted by: J Hatcher (ID *****2660) Date: October 22, 2005 at 15:51:44
  of 1247

I think the information below shows that James Columbus Pickens (1843), son of James Oliver Pickens (1818), was married twice and had a family with his second wife. Does anyone have information about this?

James C. Pickens' first wife was Lucinda J. Wilks. His second wife was Nancy E. Wilks. (Most of the files at Rootsweb have her as W.E. Wilks).

Please let us know of any glaring mistakes.

It starts with James O and Mary Jones Pickens to show that Mary lived by her son James [C] and Nancy in 1880. (Evidently returning to Marshall County before her death).

[At least] two of James and Nancy's children migrated from Marshall County, TN, to Obion and Weakley Co's, TN [where James C. died], then to Greene County, AR.

William A. Pickens (1874) went on to central California and maybe others of his siblings/cousins did also.

Thank you for all the great work everyone has generously shared online.
