At the 1803 Abbeville Dist. SC estate sale of William Black, a James Pickens was recorded as a buyer. According to the Pickens Pipeline, William Black's widow Mary had been married previously to Jonathan Pickens, brother of Genl. Andrew Pickens. The only other Pickens listed in the sale was Isabela Pickens who might have been Isabella Caldwell, the wife of Alexander Martin Pickens.
I have not found a James Pickens who would have been in the Abbeville/Pendleton Districts of SC at this time. Does anyone know of a candidate for this James Pickens?
