I have been searching for William L. Pickens and his wife Margaret Ann for a few years now and gotten no closer then I was when the first camae to my attention.
William L. Pickens, b. abt 1828, Ohio was found on the 1850 census in Noble Co., Indiana. He was listed as a Pauper.
Margaret Ann UNK was listed with him and it is possible they were newlyweds. She was born abt 1834, Ohio.
The couple never showed in the 1860 census, but in 1870 Margaret was found in Warsaw, Kosciusko, Indiana. She had Henry C.D. age 12, Delzina, (my G grandmother) age 6 and E_____ A. a female age 11 months. (This childs first name is unreadable)
In 1880, Margaret is remarried, (What happened to William?)to a James Watlesworth but still in Warsaw Indiana she has daughter Della, age 16, (Delzina) and Bessie age 7. There is no sign of Henry who would be 22 and probably on his own and the youngest Pickens child (E.A.) is also missing.
I have a bad feeling that given Margaret's age in 1850, these two ran off and got married, I have found no record, so far of their marriage and absolutely no record of where in Ohio they came from.
Any one who can help will be greatly appreciated.
