African-American Pickens Name Origins
Posted by: henry pickens (ID *****3656) Date: November 21, 2007 at 10:14:23

I am an American of African descent and researching my family ancestry. I would like to know if anyone has come across any information on the use of the Pickens name among African-Americans. For instance, records indicating the assignment of the name to slaves by the owners. My father, Jimmie, was born in Mississippi, as was his father, Gene. Any information will be greatly appreciated.
