William Pickens

Elias Pickens, (b. 1800, New Jersey d. 1888 Indiana) married Jemima Wimmer, (b. 1805 Pennsylvania, d. 1848 Indiana.)1825 in Ross Twp, Butler, Ohio. In 1830 they were enumerated in Colerain, Hamilton, Ohio with 3 males under five years of age.

My Ancestor, William Pickens, b. 1828 Ohio, would qualify as one of these sons...............But then, there are 6 other families in 1830 Ohio who have at least one male under the age of five.
Thomas in Belmont County, James in Clermont County, William Jr. in Hamilton County (possibly connected to Elias and William Sr., also in Colerain, Hamilton County) and Jefferson, John and Joshua, all in Hocking County.

Since my ancestor is named William, I am leaning toward either Elias or William Jr., whom I believe are sons of William Sr. but I need a little help proving this.

I first found William in 1850 Noble County Indiana age 22 a laborer and labled a pauper, with wife Margaret Ann age 17. Both born in Ohio. They were found again in 1860 in Kosciusko Co., Indiana.
1870 found Margaret alone in Kosciusko Co. with children Henry, Delzina, and an 11 month old child who's name is unreadable. Delzina is my Ggreat grandmother.

I have tried to find William and Margaret's origins for a long time now and have had very little luck. I hope there is someone out there who may be able to shed enough light on this so I can at least see the end of the tunnel.

Believe me, any help at all will be greatly appreciated

Thank You

Reese Spicer
