Thomas Picken AKA Picking, Private, Kings 15th Hussars
Thomas Picken married Bridget Mactighe. They had at least 3 children: Mary, born Canterbury c.1827, John, born Newcastle-under-Lyme, Staffs, c. 1831, Thomas, born Manchester, 1833.He fought in Battle of Waterloo 1815, and took part in Peterloo Massacre 1817.His wife appears to have been widowed by 1841 (census) but his family appear to have grown up in Manchester and then married etc.Bridget died in 1866 but their son, Thomas, married in 1860 and moved to Bolton about 1867, where he died in 1913.
It is believed Private Thomas Picken came from Shropshire.Would be very interested to hear from anyone who recognises this family account.
