Just stumbled on your message concerning your the Picker family in Ireland.
I lived next door to a Picker family in Kinvara, County Galway (a small seaside village in south Galway.
The father was James(Jim) Picker and I think his wife's maiden name was King from the Clifden (west Connemara) area of Galway.
They seem to have arrived in Kinvara in the 1930's and had a family of six or seven children.
The youngest of the family (Geraldine) still lives in the old family home.
Jim was an accomplished gardener and beautifully maintained the gardens of the Convent school and church in Kinvara.
A quiet man, Jim was highly respected locally, and with his wife Margaret, reared a lovely family.
