Hello Michelle,
I think I have your Israel, b. in 1806, d. March 1878 where?
His father Christopher shows up as well in a Clinton Co. census this time- 1840, at 70-79 yrs old.
Chris is my line. b. abt 1766
I show him having married a Mary McCallum. I show him as having 7 siblings. No Richard. These I have info and notes on if interested...none of the males I show had a Richard that I have documented. (but there's so much out there we don't have, as you know.....)

This I feel clear on:
Israel was the son of Christopher Pickle b. abt. 1766 probably in Claverack NY., and Marinda Sweet.
He was the Grandson of my Loyalist John Pickle b. abt 1738. Chris's brother Jacob is my direct line.
I do not have information on Israel, other than his heritage.

Here I include my notes on Chistopher, Israel's dad, then on John, Israel's Grandfather.

Christopher was born about 1766 in NY, probably Claverack. He then settled in Qc. with his father and siblings. After he married he lived in Vt. until about 1820. ( He shows up in the 1790 US Census (Actually taken circa 1791)
ALBURGH TOWN ... CHITTENDEN COUNTY ... VERMONT then I believe he moved back into Quebec for a period of years. Then, he is back in Clinton Co. NY in the 1840 census age 70-79.
He was sometimes called Stuffel.
Perhaps from Dutchess county N.Y.? (most of John's children were born in Claverack, some perhaps in Dutchess NY?)

John Pickle, b. abt 1738, NY, or Germany? :

On Aug. 31, 1802, John Pickle was granted 200 acres of land in Brome township, county of Brome Qc.

John fought in the Rev. War with the 'Kings Rangers'. A United Empire Loyalist he shows up in the Alburg Vt. 1791 census.(with Chris and Jacob)
Settled in Brome County. Settled in Sweetsburg in 1799. Land grant Qc. - 1802.

It is recorded that a John Pickel Senr. who was born in Germany served
when he was 40yrs old for 2yrs and 2months. he was 5ft 4in in height.
Also a Christian Pickel who was from Duches was 17yrs of age served
2yrs and 4 months. He was 5ft 4inches in height.

(Loyalist) Corps, Canadian Command American Revolutionary Period.

Sounds like your Israel from here,
I would love to read what you have on Israel!!

Eric Pickel, Qc.
