Nancy I would love to see the photo. Can you date the photo or do you know anything else about the individuals. There was a Capt Samuel L Pickel in the 45th Iowa during the Civil War. There also was a Police Captain in Chicago around 1913, and a Captain John Dewitt Pickel that died in a plane crash in 1953. I could also post the picture in the Newsletter. I will have to do some further digging. Are you interested in information on the Association and the newsletter? I could mail you additional information.
