My great-great grand mother is Elizabeth A. Pickell (also spelled 'Pickel' or 'Pickle' in some sources). Born about 1807 in Wythe County. [Deatherage family genealogy]

My great-great grand father, William Deatherage, and Elizabeth were married 10 July 1832 in Smyth County. [Smyth County Marriages, 1832-1850]

They stayed in Smyth county for a few years and and had 3 daughters, Susannah F. (1833), Hester Catherine (1834), and Ruth J.(1835) before moving south to Tennessee where my great grand father, Mathew Henry, was born Jan. 4, 1838. [Deatherage family genealogy]

I'm not sure, but one likely candidate for Elizabeth's father may be Jonas Pickel, b. 1875 in Va., married Elizabeth Derting in Wythe Co., 11 Oct. 1805. [Message posted by Vicki Wright on Genealogy.com, Jan., 28, 1999]

Would you have any information about Jonas Pickel and his family?

Thanks for any information you'd care to share.
